Training Tips for Floppy Ears
In the evolution of Floppy Ears training, the question of what methods would be best for Floppy come into play. Lets face it, most people know little about training a dog and need to develop some type of program. The first step is to chose a method of training to be applied. There are numerous books, periodicals, tapes and DVDs out there to use as a guide. But then the question arises, “which method would be right for Floppy and me?” A good answer to this question would be to first decide the final destination for Floppy Ears in his quest for higher learning. A good suggestion would also be to aim your training program in a direction so that once Floppy accomplishes your set goals, you can still ascend to new heights if desired at a later date. At this point the plan of attack should be to find a training program that is easy to understand for the trainer. If the trainer cannot figure out what the instructions are then it should not be expected for the pupil to magically accomplish the set goals. The next step is to acquire the needed equipment for training Ole Floppy Ears. Do not try to cut costs and corners by not being fully equipped to implement your chosen training plan. Floppy will gain most of his/her knowledge during these tender years so make sure you have the tools to help.

I just spoke to the producer for Outdoor Wiscsonsin. The episode shot on our kennel on May 8th, 2009 will air sometime in February or early March. Once the time gets closer I will know an exact date and time for the airing. I will post an update on our website, blog and facebook page when we know the time.

Hi Lily here again!
Well I had an unfortunate accident that has landed me on the injured reserve. 8 weeks ago I got a small cut on my tail. Being my happy self I wagged my tail and made it bigger. I went to the vet, but they dont know a thing. They tried to cover up the end of my tail with a protector. I knew better and ripped it off and cleaned my wound thoroughly. It may have bled a tad, and the stupid vet felt they should amputate part of my tail due to the bleeding.
Long story short, haha tail joke, I have since pulled my stitches, and worked on my shorted tail myself. That is until a couple of weeks ago. I have been retrofitted with a new battle attachment. If I am irritated I promise to use my new Middle Age-type weapon to defend my honor…..or to keep the other dogs away from my food.
Just like they say though……..Duct tape can fix anything!
WOOF!

The other day I tried to take a nice picture of Dixie. This was the result. I have no training tips other than to pray that Halloween comes and goes without incident if you have a similar pic!
Happy Halloween!
